What had happened if I move or blink my eyes during Lasik?
Feel
like during Lasik
During the Lasik eye surgery, patients are usually asked to look at a light to
prevent your eye from moving. It is important that the laser beam maintains a
constant relationship with the eye. If your eye moves in the procedure, the
surgeon may remove too much of your cornea, which could cause problems after the
operation.
However, there are new technology that is used today. The new laser machine have
been made that can track your eyes many hundreds of times a second throughout
the operation. If your eye moves, the adjustments can be made to the laser beam,
so that it maintains a constant relationship with the eye. Thus, the eye surgeon
has full control of the laser and continuously monitors its position ensuring
that any eye movement will not cause any damage or other negative effects.
Don't worry about blinking or any other accidental movements during the LASIK
procedure. The eye is held open by an eyelid speculum.
