
Postoperative care in first 24 hours after Lasik
Once the Lasik eye surgery is completed, you will be taken to a dark room and
instructed to close your eyes for 20 - 30 minutes. After a medical examination,
you can able to go home but can not drive a car by yourself if there are not
special. However a plastic eye guards will be wear for you continuously until
the next morning.
Next 24 hours
after Lasik, the symptom you may experience :
You may
notice mild irritation, redness, and tearing, almost as if there is a hair
or a scratch in the eye. It is normal and in most cases is almost completely
gone the next morning. It is recommended that you take a non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory pain reliever to alleviate the pain and discomfort that is
expected.

Your vision will be blurry during the first 1-3 days.

You may experience sensitivity to light, glare, starbursts or halos around lights.
The recovery guidelines after Lasik eye surgery in first 24 hours :

Preferably sleep immediately
You need to take complete rest, preferably sleep immediately
after the Lasik procedure. Ideally you will want to keep your
eyes closed for 2 to 4 hours as part of the immediate LASIK recovery
process. Sleep immediately after Lasik surgery
can help in healing of your eyes faster. Do not forget wear the
plastic eye guards.

Using drops
It is very important, after 2 - 4 hours, when
you wake up, remove the plastic eye guards and use the lubricant eye drops
as per direction of your doctor to prevent dryness and avoid complication in
the days following a Lasik operation.

Be very careful not to poke, rub, squeeze or touch your eyes - all could cause discomfort and could dislodge the flaps.

Avoid soap and water in the eyes.

Rest for the first 24 hours
Do not reading, no computer work, and no watching TV. We recommend resting
for the first 24 hours following Lasik surgery.

Smoking is permitted, but any smoke is irritating to the eye.
